mural painted on wall of a gray building

The Vault Warehouse at 1000 E NY Street Long Beach is a one hundred year old fireproof structure. Originally, the Vault Warehouse was a fireproof storage facility.  Over the last century, this building has stood the test of time, and is one of the only structures in Southern California to survive the 1933 Long Beach earthquake.

We have transformed The Vault Warehouse into artistic studios and dwellings, offering a unique space for our communities' artists to express themselves and share their passions with the world.

The Vault Warehouse is dedicated to serving our local artists and the Long Beach community.

Adaptive Reuse for Creative Living

The existing fireproof structure had to be revitalized in order to meet current code requirements. Environ worked closely with the client to understand their current and future needs. The primary changes include dividing the existing warehouse space into individual artist studios / residences, adding smoke doors to the large format elevator, updating all electrical and plumbing throughout and revitalizing the facade.
